In pediatric patients, especially infants, the brachial artery is the best pulse site to check because it is easily accessible on the inside of the upper arm and provides a reliable indication of circulation without requiring neck access or a very small wrist pulse. The radial pulse can be difficult to feel in infants due to the small size of their vessels and weaker perfusion, making it less dependable in this age group. The carotid pulse, while sometimes used in emergencies, is harder to locate quickly in a small child and pressing on the neck can be uncomfortable or risky.
